On May 24th, a webinar titled “The Role of AI as a Complementary Technology in the Computing Continuum: European Market Forecast and Insights” was held. This event was co-organized by two EU-funded projects, AISPRINT and UNLOCK-CEI, representing the EUCloudEdgeIoT.eu initiative. The primary objective of this webinar was to offer valuable insights to various stakeholders within the Edge, Cloud, IoT, AI, and Data ecosystems. These stakeholders encompassed research organizations, associations specializing in computing continuum technologies, developers, domain experts, governmental bodies, policymakers, citizens, and civil society.

The webinar aimed to enhance attendees’ understanding of the edge computing demand market while providing key insights into spending patterns, adoption rates, and prevalent use cases. Additionally, it delved into market trends that could significantly influence investment decisions related to Edge and AI technologies. This focus extended to sectors such as healthcare, energy, and agriculture. Furthermore, the webinar explored the synergy between AI and complementary technologies like Machine Learning (ML) and federated learning, highlighting their potential impact on the computing continuum landscape.
