RISER Project participates in FOSDEM 2024

One of the technical leads on the RISER project, Nick Kossifidis (FORTH), is presenting a critique of the available Linux FS system calls at the Free and Open Source European Developers Meeting (FOSDEM) 2024 on February 4th in the “kernel DevRoom”.

The two-day free event takes place in Brussels on February 3rd and 4th and is organised by volunteers to promote the widespread use of free and open-source software. The goal of the conference is to provide software developers and the wider community with a meeting place where they can:

  • connect with other developers and projects;
  • learn about the latest developments in the world of free and open source software;
  • attend interesting talks and presentations on various topics by project leaders and committers;
  • promote the development and benefits of free software and open-source solutions;

The RISER project relies on and, in turn, contributes to the development of open-source software by working to support the RISC-V platform in the Linux kernel, as well as support for running and orchestrating containers as a foundation for cloud services.
