EU Open-Source Policy Summit 2024
The world’s largest gathering of policymakers, open source businesses, community members, developers, foundations and experts engaged in diverse digital policy – the EU Open Source Policy Summit 2024 – has its 10th anniversary, and this year focuses on the strategic application of open technologies, with a special focus on open source, which holds the key to effectively addressing digital policy challenges. Embracing “openness” provides multiple benefits, including reducing dependency on specific suppliers, increasing system resilience, and promoting healthy competition and innovation.
The 10-year anniversary of the OpenForum Europe’s EU Open-Source Policy Summit is taking place on 2 February 2024, just before FOSDEM.
Open-source software is a driving force behind innovation and collaboration in the digital age. As politicians and industry leaders recognise its importance, the EU Open Source Policy Summit provides a platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas. By harnessing the power of Open Source, more inclusive, transparent and sustainable digital ecosystems can be built.
This year the summit will be attended by representatives of the RISER project – Nick Kossifidis (FORTH) and Manolis Marazakis (FORTH).
