Technology Scoping Document by UNLOCK-CEI project

This deliverable is a component of Work Package 4, “Tech Developer Engagement,” within the UNLOCK-CEI project. Specifically, it falls under Task 4.1, which focuses on Portfolio Supply Coordination. The primary objective of this deliverable is to provide an in-depth overview of the European Cloud-Edge-IoT continuum initiative and the project portfolio related to Meta-Operating Systems for the Next Generation IoT and Edge Computing Cluster. In order to lay the groundwork for future developments, this publication conducts an analysis of existing technologies and previous initiatives that form the foundation of the EUCEI initiative.

The document outlines the CEI (Cloud-Edge-IoT) framework, categorizing technologies that address key challenges and offer solutions. These sector-specific and market challenges serve as the foundation for identifying market needs, a crucial aspect of the UNLOCK-CEI project. Understanding the current project cluster is the initial step towards bridging the gap between supply and demand within the continuum, ultimately leading to the development of market-ready technologies that benefit the ecosystem. To illustrate potential solutions to industry-related challenges, the deliverable includes a table of use cases from the project portfolio.

In essence, this deliverable serves as the foundation for establishing a connection between stakeholders on both the supply and demand sides, ultimately facilitating the successful delivery of valuable projects.
