RISER Project: Attending the RISC-V Summit Europe 2023

The RISER (RISC-V for Cloud Services) project is excited to announce its participation at the highly anticipated RISC-V Summit Europe. The event will take place in Barcelona from June 6th to 9th, 2023, and will bring together industry leaders, academic experts, and researchers that are exploring the many commercial and academic possibilities of RISC-V architectures.

The RISER Project, funded by the Horizon Europe Framework Programme (HORIZON), brings together 7 partners from industry and academia to develop and validate open-source designs for standardized form-factor system platforms suitable for supporting cloud services and is dedicated to driving advancements in the RISC-V ecosystem. RISER will develop the first all-European RISC-V cloud server infrastructure, significantly enhancing European Commission’s trade policy for open strategic autonomy. RISER will leverage and validate open hardware high-speed interfaces combined with a fully-featured operating system environment and runtime system, enabling the integration of low-power components, including RISC-V processor chips from the EPI and EUPILOT projects, in a novel energy-efficient cloud architecture.

“We are thrilled to participate in the RISC-V Summit Europe, where strong industrial collaboration combines with academic excellence,” said Manolis Marazakis, project coordinator of the RISER Project (principal staff research scientist at FORTH). “This event provides a fantastic platform for us to exchange knowledge and forge partnerships that will propel the RISC-V ecosystem forward.”

RISER representatives will attend the conference taking place from Tuesday 6th to Thursday 8th, and engage with other associated research projects during the workshop sessions on Friday the 9th. We hope to see you there.

“We believe that collaboration and knowledge sharing is vital for the continued growth and success of the RISC-V community,” said Jordi Cortina (Senior IC Design Engineer at Semidynamics Technology Services). “Through our participation at the RISC-V Summit Europe, we hope to connect with others, foster new ideas, and collectively shape the future of RISC-V.”
